Sandra Carrasco and David de Arahal present "Poetas. Poesía culta y popular" at Teatro Cervantes on Sunday 4 April 2027 at 19:00, as part of the Flamenco lo serás tú 2027 series.
"Poetas" puts words at the centre of the musical discourse, exploring the historic relationship between poetry and cante. The show moves through poets whose work resonates naturally with flamenco's sensibility: the Generation of '27 (Lorca, Alberti, Cernuda, Aleixandre) alongside other essential names in Spanish poetry such as Rafael de León and Juan Ramón Jiménez, showing that flamenco has always been a meeting point between the popular and the literary.
Sandra Carrasco (Huelva, 1981) stood out from a very young age in the fandangos of Huelva and has toured backing Arcángel, Manolo Sanlúcar, Miguel Poveda and Estrella Morente. Her first album, produced by Javier Limón in 2011, featured Pepe Habichuela, Josemi Carmona and Avishai Cohen; it was followed by "Océano" (2014), with Chuchito Valdés, Javier Colina and Jerry González; "Travesía" (2015), among Spain's 100 best albums; "La luz del entendimiento" (2020); and "Recordando a Marchena" (2024), alongside David de Arahal. She has also collaborated with Richard Bona, María Peláe, Carlos Saura, Spain's National Ballet, José Luis Montón and Eva Yerbabuena.
David de Arahal (Seville, 2000), a guitarist and composer, trained with Manolo Sanlúcar, Serranito and Rafael Riqueni, and has worked with Pepe de Lucía, Lole Montoya, Miguel Poveda, Estrella Morente, Israel Fernández and Antonio Canales.
