Pianist and composer Lucía Rey presents "Nómadas" at Teatro Echegaray in Málaga on Sunday 13 December 2026 at 19:00.
"Nómadas" is a sonic journey fusing flamenco, Latin jazz, Mediterranean music, and classical and contemporary sounds, approached with the expressive freedom of today's jazz. Lucía Rey immerses herself in the folklore of the countries around the Mediterranean, in an eclectic world where traditional rhythms, modern harmonies and electronic textures coexist. The project has played Jazzaldia, Getxo Jazz, JazzMadrid, Havana's Jazz Plaza, the Stuttgart Latin Jazz Festival and the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, and was nominated for Best Jazz Album at both the 2025 Music Academy Awards and the 2025 +Músicas Awards.
Winner of Spain's National Jazz Award (Plataforma Jazz España 2026-2027), Lucía Rey is one of the most personal voices in contemporary jazz made in Spain. She trained at Madrid's Royal Conservatory of Music, Cuba's Instituto Superior de Artes, the Brooklyn Conservatory and The Collective in New York.
Lucía Rey (composition, piano and backing vocals), Michael Olivera (drums), Ander García (double bass) and Juan Carlos Aracil (flute).
