Friday 6 November 2026 · 20:00 · Teatro Cervantes Málaga, Málaga
Kurt Rosenwinkel performs at Teatro Cervantes on Friday 6 November 2026 at 20:00, as part of the 40th Málaga International Jazz Festival.
His current show is an immersion into the most forward-looking contemporary jazz, where composition and improvisation intertwine organically. The set combines recent material with key pieces from his career, built on a complex harmonic language supported by highly personal textures and tonal nuances. Interaction with the band is fluid and highly responsive, so every concert produces unique versions: an introspective, sophisticated live show of great aesthetic depth.
Rosenwinkel is one of the key figures in the evolution of contemporary jazz guitar, with a signature language that has influenced several generations. The New York Times called him "one of the leaders of modern jazz guitar and one of the most plainly gifted musicians of his generation". He has a close relationship with live performance, especially at the Village Vanguard in New York, where he recorded the album "The Remedy", a reflection of his artistic maturity.
Kurt Rosenwinkel (guitar), Seamus Blake (saxophone), Aaron Goldberg (keyboard), Joe Martin (bass) and Jeff "Tain" Watts (drums).
Running time: 1 h 15 min, no interval.
