Kurt Elling and the Yellowjackets celebrate Weather Report at Teatro Cervantes on Monday 9 November 2026 at 20:00, as part of the 40th Málaga International Jazz Festival.
An exciting collaboration between two major jazz figures, blending Weather Report's iconic music with bold reinterpretations and original material. Grammy-winning vocalist Kurt Elling, known for his captivating baritone voice and brilliant improvisations, joins forces with the Yellowjackets, jazz-fusion legends who have spent more than four decades redefining the genre, to pay tribute to that band by combining reimagined classics with new explorations.
Founded in 1970 by Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter, Weather Report was a defining act of the 1970s and 80s, with an explosive blend of jazz, rock, Latin sounds and funk that peaked with "Heavy Weather" (1977), an album that changed the course of modern jazz.
Kurt Elling (vocals), Russell Ferrante (keyboards), Bob Mintzer (saxophone), Dane Alderson (bass) and Marcus Finnie (drums).
