Putting feeling ahead of perfectionism: that's the creed driving the restless creativity of the British multi-instrumentalist, rapper and producer. His live show is an experience where composition and improvisation coexist in a structured way. The set blends material from "Roulette" (2025) with earlier work such as "Antiphon" and "Bring Backs": each piece starts from its original form and expands with instrumental sections where collective improvisation takes centre stage, over a groove shaped by hip-hop and neo-soul. Alfa Mist leads from the piano, shaping dynamics, entrances and transitions in real time, with a warm, analogue sound played entirely live.
He began as a grime and hip-hop producer in east London and came to piano and jazz as a self-taught musician. With "Nocturne" (2015) and "Antiphon" (2017) he became part of the new UK jazz scene, and built a signature style fusing jazz, hip-hop and soul on "Structuralism" (2019) and "Bring Backs" (2021). "Variables" (2023) and "Roulette" (2025) have further cemented his place in contemporary jazz.
Running time: 1 h 15 min, no interval.
