Sara Baras

Sara Baras (San Fernando, Cádiz, 1971) is one of the great dancers and choreographers of contemporary flamenco. Trained at her mother's school, she founded her own company in 1997 and has since performed on the best stages of Europe, the Americas and Asia. Her theatrical productions — "Juana la Loca" (2000, three Max Awards), "Carmen" (2007) and "Suite Flamenca" (2019) — combine the purity of traditional flamenco with an innovative stage vision. Winner of Spain's 2003 National Dance Award and the 2022 Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts.
