John Talabot

John Talabot is the stage name of Oriol Riverola, a Catalan electronic producer and DJ born in Barcelona on 8 January 1982. After initially producing as d.a.r.y.l, Riverola adopted the name John Talabot in 2009 (taken from his school in Barcelona). Talabot established himself as a trailblazer in electronica, microhouse and future garage, with a sound marked by dreamy melodies and pulsing beats. His EP "Sunshine" (2010) was followed by "Families" (2011) on Young Turks, and his debut album ƒIN (2012) on Permanent Vacation received five stars from The Guardian. He founded the label Hivern Discs in 2008 (Catalan for "winter"), which has become an influential body on the European electronic scene thanks to consistent releases and showcase events across the continent, with artists such as Pional, Marvin & Guy, Margot and Talabot himself.
